This week, we put Mr Reflinski in the hot seat to find out more about him, both inside and outside of school!
Before joining TIFS, Mr Reflinski worked in two different schools during his teacher training – one in Portsmouth and another in Littlehampton. He then came to TIFS, where he is now the Head of Computer Science.
When he was younger, Mr Reflinski dreamed of becoming a police officer or even a member of the SWAT team. Although he chose a different career, he now enjoys teaching pupils about computer science and technology.
As well as leading the Computer Science department, Mr Reflinski runs several popular enrichments, including Warhammer, Programming and Comic Books, giving pupils even more opportunities to explore their interests after school.
If he could go anywhere on holiday, he would choose Zakopane, Poland, where he would love to spend time with his wife. Mr Reflinski grew up in Rybnik, Poland, before moving to the UK, so he can speak both Polish and English. Interestingly, he says he speaks with more of an American accent because he grew up watching American television shows and found the British accent difficult to understand at first!
Although he doesn’t currently have any pets, Mr Reflinski says he would love to own a cat one day.
When it comes to food, his favourite meal is Chinese salt and pepper squid, extra spicy, and his favourite drink is Vanilla Coke Zero.
Finally, his favourite film is Transformers (1986), and his favourite colour is violet, because it is the main colour associated with the Decepticons.
A big thank you to Mr Reflinski for taking part in this week’s Teacher in the Hot Seat!
