The TIFS Summer Show is coming up in July, and lots of pupils are already starting to think about what they might enter. The Summer Show is always a highlight of the school year, giving everyone the chance to showcase their talents, creativity and hard work. We went around the school to find out what some pupils are planning and how they feel about the event.

A pupil in Year 7 told us that he is thinking about entering some photography. He hopes he can finish in the top three, or maybe even win! He is really looking forward to the Summer Show because it will be a completely new experience for him. He explained that his primary school never held anything like it, so he is excited to see what it is all about.

Georgia in Year 9 said she is not completely sure what she will enter this year, but she is considering growing a cactus. Last year she also entered a cactus and managed to come second place. She explained that she was given a tiny cactus earlier in the year and spent months helping it grow before entering it into the Summer Show. This year she is hoping to go one step further and claim first place.

Another Year 9 pupil told us that she may enter a coaster that she made during one of her enrichments. Although she has never finished in the top three before, she is hoping this could be her year.

Ayla in Year 7 is thinking about entering something food-related. One idea she has is making a bird’s nest cake, which is something she enjoyed making in primary school. Ayla said she is really looking forward to the Summer Show because it is fun and offers a break from normal lessons. Interestingly, she said she would not mind if another pupil won, as she would just enjoy taking part.

One pupil said she has not fully decided what to enter yet but is considering baking something. Last year she baked rolls, which took around three hours to make. Although she has never placed in the top three before, she is hoping her hard work will pay off this year.

After hearing all these fantastic ideas, it is clear that pupils are already getting creative and preparing for the Summer Show. From photography and gardening to baking and crafts, there are so many different ways to get involved.

If you have not decided on your entry yet, now is the perfect time to start thinking! We can’t wait to see all the amazing creations on display in July. Good luck to everyone taking part!
