An outstanding performance was produced here at TIFS yet again. Countless people came together, both on and off stage, to enable the cast to put on a musical version of The Addam’s Family.
Everyone involved worked incredibly hard over a long period of time to bring this production together, and it definitely showed. As always, we had some brilliant performers. Jake, who played Uncle Fester, was perfectly suited to his comedic role. His charismatic personality ensured the audience was entertained throughout. Miles (Gomez Addams) was strong and confident, just as we have seen in his previous performances. Ellen (Wednesday Addams) showed off her undeniable talent, alongside Freya (Morticia Addams), who was elegant and graceful on stage. George (Wednesday’s boyfriend) was composed and really brought his character to life. Finally, Freddie (Pugsley Addams) fully embodied his role and was absolutely fantastic as bringing the role of Pugsley to life!
Alongside the main cast, the ensemble did a fantastic job supporting the flow of the production. Even when in the background, they shone and added greatly to the overall experience.
It wouldn’t be a musical without the dancers, who did a magnificent job doing what they do best on stage. Their fluid movements helped tell the story of Wednesday Addams and brought extra energy to each scene.
The singing was also outstanding, with some unexpected voices truly standing out. One performer who left a lasting impression was Junior (Lurch), whose vocals surprised the audience and his way of really embodying his character was amazing!
Of course, not all the hard work is seen on stage. Behind the curtains were people working tirelessly to keep the show running smoothly – from makeup artists and directors to lighting technicians, prop and set designers, costume designers, choreographers, and many more.
A huge well done to everyone involved. We can’t wait to see what they come up with next – and maybe even spot some new faces on stage too!
