Some of our pupils have had the amazing opportunity to perform at the Royal Albert Hall with Theatretrain! We caught up with Polly, Naeve, Heston, Emily, and Isaac to hear all about their experience.

When asked how long they’ve been interested in theatre, the answers were impressive: Heston has been fascinated since he was very young, Emily has been performing for 4 years at Theatretrain (but started performing at age 6), Polly has been involved her whole life, Naeve for 10 years, and Isaac has been performing and interested in theatre for 9 years.

The pupils have all been attending Theatretrain for different lengths of time: Heston has been “dipping in and out” for 6 years, Emily for 7 years, Polly for 11 years, Naeve for 10 years, and Isaac for 9 years.

I asked them about their trip to the Royal Albert Hall. They said it was nerve-racking, but also very exciting and an experience they’ll never forget. The pupils had been preparing for the performance since February, practising singing, dancing, and acting to make the show perfect.

Many theatre groups from across the UK were invited to perform at the Royal Albert Hall, so it was a big, national event.

I also asked what their favourite Theatretrain performance has been. Isaac loved Peter Pan, where he got to play Michael, one of the main parts. Emily’s favourites were Aladdin and Footloose, while Heston also loved performing in Footloose because “the vibes were very good.” Naeve and Polly’s favourite show was High School Musical.

At the Royal Albert Hall, they performed a show called “We’re Going to Change the World”, which focused on climate change. It included singing, dancing, and acting to make the story exciting and meaningful.

It’s clear that Theatretrain has given these pupils not just skills in performing, but amazing experiences they’ll remember forever – especially performing at such an iconic venue! Well done to everyone involved!
