We are starting something new on Salve! Each week we will zoom in on one pupil who does something unique and interesting outside of school. We will have a chat with them and learn all about it! This week, we caught up with Harry S in Year 10.
We had the chance to sit down with one of our inspiring musicians, Harry S, to learn more about his passion for music, his band, named “No Clue” which consists of 5 members, and the instrument he plays. Here’s what he had to say!
Harry is a drummer and absolutely loves playing. When asked if he enjoys it, he replied, “Yes, it’s really fun” Harry was introduced to drumming by his mum’s friend who suggested he should take up lessons. Drumming allows him to express himself through music, and he finds it an exciting and rewarding instrument to play.
His band plays a variety of songs, but one of the main ones they perform is “Creep” by Radiohead. To keep improving, Harry practices once a week for two hours, dedicating time to perfecting his skills. His band play regularly at Strings in Newport.
The band itself was formed at school when Harry and one of his friends joined at the same time. Since then, they have been working together to create music and develop their sound. When asked about his favorite songs, Harry found it difficult to choose, saying, “It’s a hard decision.”
It’s clear that Harry has a real passion for drumming and enjoys being part of a band. With his dedication and love for music, we can’t wait to see where his drumming journey takes him next!
