The full festival lineup has recently been announced, and excitement is in the air!
The Isle of Wight Festival has a long history dating back to 1969, when legendary headliners like Jimi Hendrix and The Doors rocked the main stage. After a sudden shutdown, the festival remained dormant for years. However, thanks to John Giddings, the festival was revived and has since become one of the biggest annual events on the Isle of Wight.
Over the years, the festival’s headliners have evolved, featuring artists like The Rolling Stones, Duran Duran, The Killers, and Noel Gallagher. This continuous progression has only increased the festival’s popularity, making it one of the most anticipated events on the island.
What Are People Looking Forward To?
We spoke to some festival-goers about their plans for this year’s event:
Penny (Year 7) is especially excited to see Justin Timberlake, who will be headlining the main stage on Sunday. Having previously attended to see acts like Green Day, The Prodigy, and Muse, she’s hoping for The Kooks to make a return.
Meanwhile, Hunter and Archie (Year 9) are also heading to the festival.
- Archie enjoys visiting the Electro Love Tent and is hoping to see a Queen tribute band in 2025.
- Hunter also loves the Electro Love Tent and has seen performances from Green Day and The Pet Shop Boys in the past. He’s hoping that Eminem will headline in the future.
Overall, festival-goers have loved the event in past years, and excitement for Isle of Wight Festival 2025 is higher than ever. We can’t wait to see what’s in store!
