Miss Petty

We have had a few new members of staff join the TIFS family this September and we wanted to find out how they’re settling in and what they think about the school so far.

First, we would like to introduce you too Miss Petty, who is the Assistant Head of Year for Year 9. She said the students and staff have been really helpful to her. Before coming to the Island Free School, she worked at another school. Her favourite subject in school was Art, and she loves the sense of community here. In her spare time, she enjoys swimming and crocheting. Her favourite foods are prawns, pasta, and jacket potatoes, and her recommendations for school lunches are the sweet potato curry and the roast dinner. Miss Petty also said she really enjoyed school when she was younger.

Additionally, we also have is Miss Rajasingam, who teaches French. She mentioned that she finds the school quite busy, but she likes it. Before joining us, she worked at Cowes Enterprise College. Her favourite subject when she was at school was Languages, and outside of school, she enjoys riding her motorbike and doing DIY. Her favourite foods are sweets and biscuits, and she recommends the chicken pie for school lunch. Miss Rajasingam also said she loved school when she was younger and thought it was fun.

Finally we caught up with Dr Phillips, one of our new Spanish teachers. She finds the school really friendly, and before coming here, she worked at a secondary school in Bristol. Her favourite subject in school was English, and outside of school, she loves to travel. Some of her favourite foods are biscuits, and she recommends the baguettes for lunch.
