On Thursday 6th November, ten of our Year 10 pupils went to Cowes Enterprise College to compete in a netball tournament. Eight secondary schools took part, and overall, TIFS came 2nd – an amazing achievement!

We asked a few players how they thought the day went. When we asked who their favourite team to play against was, Olivia and Katherine said Ryde School and Upper Chine, the team who beat us, because they played really well. Annabelle said Carisbrooke was her favourite match because it was our first game, and it was fast-paced straight away – a great way to start the day.

When we asked what the team’s best quality was, Katherine said it was our teamwork, which we had practised a lot. Penny and Romey definitely stood out, with everyone agreeing they boosted the team’s confidence. Penny played brilliantly, including everyone and working as part of the team, while Romey dominated centre.

Everyone agreed that Ryde Private was the hardest team to play against. It was our last match, and some of us were starting to get tired, so a few silly mistakes happened. But Ryde Private were very well practised, and they ended up taking first place.

When we asked how the team could improve in the future, Annabelle suggested calling for the ball more, while Katherine said we should try not to be called for obstruction or footwork as much.

Overall, everyone had a fantastic day. The team showed great effort, played really well, and there were positive vibes all afternoon.

A huge well done to Penny H, Maisie C, Annabelle S, Romey M, Jess L, Marley W-V, Olivia M, Katherine B, Edith G, and Faith S for their amazing performances.
